Freshwater Pearls are especially made of freshwater mussels or mollusks that are found in lakes, rivers, ponds and various other fresh water resources.

These mussels make over twenty pearls per mussel and hence are cheaper than saltwater pearl, because the ocean pearl oysters turn out only one pearl per oyster.

Gorgeously created freshwater pearls are designed in Asia (originally) and also in the USA. Nowadays most freshwater pearls come from China.
